Understanding the Writing Section

Summarize Written Text
You must summarize a passage of up to 300 words into a single sentence of 5-75 words. Tip: Use complex sentences with conjunctions like 'however', 'although', and 'because' to link ideas. Ensure you have only one full stop at the end.
Write Essay
You have 20 minutes to write a 200-300 word essay. Structure is crucial.
Essay Structure
- Introduction: Paraphrase the prompt and state your opinion.
- Body Paragraph 1: Argument 1 with supporting details/examples.
- Body Paragraph 2: Argument 2 or counter-argument.
- Conclusion: Summarize your main points and restate your verdict.
